As we look back on 2025 we were reminded of what happened to us personally and the continued brick walls that we kept running into with projects. Below is an update on each project/continuing item that we have going. We are hopeful of a fun and enjoyable 2026. Thank You all.

Tsévié APRHFstore.com– This store continues to be quite the help in keeping the day-to-day operations fluid. Sales were not as strong this year due to market fluctuations but has been good. Please keep our store in mind when you need to add to your train collection or per-order anything. We are a full-line dealer and all income goes directly to the continued operations of the APRHF.

Port Sudan APRHFswagstore– This store has T-shirts, mugs, cups, and pictures of our favorite Amtrak Station. We will be adding some more items in the near future (some will feature our new color logo).

G-12 Train set– The entire train is here and it looks great! We have placed our order for some track to be built and painted this year. Hopefully, there will be enough track to test the engine on it at least. Station Improvement Funds– This is an on going program that the APRHF gets to participate in as long as we are active in the MORPAC group (MORPAC is the “Missouri Rail Passenger Advisory Committee”). This past year we used the funds to rebuild the LaPlata Amtrak Station’s garden. This year we are looking at doing some painting of the window frames and gravel for the parking lot.

Lookout Point Park– The current lookout point will get a new deck and other maintenance, both indoors and down the old right-of-way this year. Last year, time and lack of finances postponed the project. There will also be some tree trimming, so please keep your eyes tuned for opportunities for volunteering. Maybe we can also catch the groundhog that keeps making holes in the driveway. Please consider a donation here to help get these projects completed in early spring.

The big park project is still on hold as we try to acquire some land that this project can be built upon. NS and BNSF have not answered any of our requests but we keep trying. We also have a real estate agent involved in trying to contact NS with no avail. We will keep going and also keep our eyes open for opportunities. Update: there has been some replies to the real estate agent from NS about the old ROW. Hopefully, there will be some real information about this soon.

Membership– Membership is a key to any group’s survival and growth. We can sell stuff all day long but that still doesn’t replace a good solid membership base. Please consider joining the APRHF and be a part of us. We will be happy to have you!

Projects– We try to plan ahead for all our projects that require outdoor work. We will have some opportunities to scan items and help organize our archives in the near future. We have quite a bit of nice archives that would be wonderful to share in the digital world for now.
