hardily The first part of October was beautiful and it brought us a gift from Michigan. Bill and Gail Barr showed up with the engine to the G-12 train. The train set is now complete and ready to run when the track is laid. We have four pieces of track completed and two more at the welding shop being built. This year we do plan to paint the track and set up an area to easily move the engine in and out of the building to learn how to use it and keep it operational.
Bill set this train up on the trailer so it was easy to unload without needing a fork lift. He put dummy axles under it so it would roll right off the trailer easily.

The above photos show how it was wrapped and set for its 10 hour journey back to LaPlata. The trailer was pulled around to the back door of the building for unloading. We got everything unwrapped and lined up. The winch was powered up and began to release the engine as many eyes were on the wheels to be sure they stayed on the wood rails and also dropped to the track properly.

Success!! The plan worked perfectly and we were happy with that. We got the train in the building and rolled it to the side so we could walk again. I love it when a plan comes together and there is good people to work with.

Gail and Bill put the cover over it and tuck it in for now. Smitty looks on with a feeling of accomplishment that we all had. It will be awesome when this is shared with the community and visitors.
