Esplanada My friend Joe called the other day and asked if I had a wheelset handy for the train. I said, “yes” and he said, “bring it to the shop please”. The next day I appeared with the wheelset and he had the sample pieces of track ready for inspection. We all were like little kids on our hands and knees pushing the wheelset back and forth. The best part was it worked.
The gauge was a little tight on the straight section. Adjustments are being made. The track looks very nice and will serve the train well. This is the jig for the curved sections. Since we know this layout will change as the park changes. Sectional track with joint bars will be used. This will make for easy maintenance.Gauge is a little tight. Wheelset looks great. This scheme is based on our Let’s Talk Trains logo colors. The engine and Observation car are done in this scheme. The other cars will be changed to this once they are in need of updates due to wear. Until then it is “Rainbow Era”What a beauty!! All LED lights now too. 258 is the original number.
If things go right the train may be out for testing later this year. The engine is still needing some driveline parts.
